At the DSTA Family Day held on 13 March 2018, more than 1,500 DSTA staff and family members had a roaring good time together checking out wildlife parks!
Kicking off the event with a welcome address, Chief Executive Tan Peng Yam thanked staff’s family members who have given their unwavering support through the years. Following the address, participants were treated to an exclusive sea lion show and peals of laughter filled the air.
Various fringe activities were set up for participants to enjoy. Some saw themselves gathering at the instant photo booth while others got airbrush tattoos and their caricatures drawn. The adorable elephant mascot proved to be popular especially with the young.
Participants had an enjoyable time exploring nocturnal animals and learning about animals residing in the different river ecosystems around the world. More than that, it was one another’s companionship among families as well as the larger DSTA family that made the occasion memorable.
“It was a good opportunity to spend time with my family. We especially enjoyed the tram ride around the Night Safari,” said Engineer (Air Systems) Lee Xun Yong.
Sharing similar sentiments, Project Manager (Digital Hub) Lena Lim said: “My favourite part of the event was the opportunity to spend time with both family and colleagues. My brother-in-law also works in DSTA, and this became an extended family outing – which was quite rare for us!”
