Speakers from tech companies were invited to share their views on digitalisation.

On navigating the process of innovation, Assistant Professor of Engineering Product Development Pillar from the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Professor Luo Jianxi got staff acquainted with InnoGPS, a computational-visual aid that provides artificial intelligence to augment the intuitive human process of design ideation and innovation opportunity exploration.

Professor Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli, Elettronica’s Senior Advisor, highlighted digitalisation in the aerospace and defence industry. “Digitalisation is not about doing something better or something more, it is about thinking differently,” he said, emphasising the need for an increased speed in moving towards digitalisation.

Next, Phillipe Pham, who heads the department of Data Analytics and Applications at the Airbus Defence and Space Division, shared the underlying principles and the need for a transformation from analogue to digital. He touched on the importance of striking the right balance between disruption and incremental evolution, both in an organisation’s internal tools, methods and processes, as well as the products and solutions offered by the organisation.

Olivier Flous, Thales Group’s Vice President of Digital Transformation and Digital Factory, outlined the implementation of Thales Digital Factory, which focuses on enhancing the user experience and incremental viable products.
