DSTA has completed a joint command, control and communications (C3) and infocomm infrastructure study for the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
From the study, a notable outcome was the conceptualisation of the Integrated Port Operations C3 (IPOC), which will serve as an integrated system for MPA to work with key stakeholders in the port community and government agencies seamlessly. The team also recommended the wireless and wired infocomm infrastructure to be built for the new Tuas Maritime Hub to support multiple agencies.
DSTA had worked closely with MPA to analyse stakeholders’ needs and concerns, review current business processes and develop new ideas and concepts for both current and future port operations requirements.
As a result, the DSTA team developed a blueprint for an envisaged C3 system – IPOC. Fusing data from different sources, the IPOC will provide MPA with comprehensive situational awareness of port operations. It will also allow MPA to share information more efficiently among its operational units, as well as with other government agencies and partners for a better coordinated response to incidents.
