On 13 March 2014, 15 volunteers from Corporate Planning and Services (CPS) embarked on a day of learning, discovery and fun with some 17 beneficiaries from FaithActs Community Service Home as part of DSTA’s Volunteer-A-Day (VAD) initiative.
Coming from a variety of family backgrounds and ranging from 55 to 90 years old, the beneficiaries were treated to a specially planned itinerary at the Bollywood Veggies Farm. The activities engaged both the beneficiaries and volunteers alike and allowed them to spend a meaningful time together.
Through this experience, Manager Mark Chee forged strong friendships and took home precious memories. He commented: "I am thankful for this opportunity to do my part for our needy elderly. The smiles that we brought to their faces were priceless. I will definitely do this meaningful activity again!"
