DOING BUSINESS WITH THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
The Defence Science & Technology Agency or DSTA is the central procurement agency for the Ministry of Defence or MINDEF, and the Singapore Armed Forces or SAF.
Generally, MINDEF and SAF defines its needs and seeks approval for its procurement requirements from the relevant authority within SAF or MINDEF (for higher values). DSTA is responsible for the procurement process which includes sourcing, bid solicitation, evaluation, obtaining approval of purchase and contracting. DSTA is also responsible for contracting for disposal and sales of retired stores and equipment.
Communication with DSTA on procurement matters may be made through the following channels:
REGISTRATION AS A GEBIZ TRADING PARTNER
All public sector invitations for quotations and tenders are posted in GeBIZ, the one-stop Government electronic business portal. To do business with MINDEF and DSTA, a supplier should register as a GeBIZ Trading Partner (GTP). All suppliers are entitled to one free user account while additional accounts can be purchased if necessary.
