Our engineers from the Super Low Energy Training Centre team celebrated a win by clinching the IES Sustainability Award 2024!
The winning team received the award from IES President Er. Chan Ewe Jin (fourth from left).
Presented at the IES 58th Annual Dinner on 15 October 2024, the award recognises the outstanding achievements of engineering projects and initiatives that promote sustainability and innovation.
The latest accolade shines a spotlight on the Super Low Energy Training Centre which DSTA developed for the RSAF, with its design prioritising sustainability, modularity, maintainability, and user-centricity, while incorporating natural lighting and interaction spaces to create an optimal and conducive environment for both trainers and trainees.
As training centres are typically energy intensive, the features help cut the building’s annual energy consumption by 40% and water usage by 70%, resulting in utility savings of up to $340K per year. The facility also received the BCA Green Mark Award (Platinum) (Super Low Energy).

Thank you to our management, users, colleagues and industry partners who have supported us along this journey!”
Big congrats again to the team!
