DSTA has received the SHARE Silver Award for its active participation in the SHARE Programme.

Presented by the Community Chest, the SHARE Awards are given to organisations and individuals in recognition of their contributions in supporting the less fortunate through the SHARE programme. All proceeds go towards helping a wide range of charities provide holistic and comprehensive support to the beneficiaries.

President (DSTA Academy) Tan Yang How represented DSTA to receive the award from Chairman of Community Chest Phillip Tan at the awards ceremony on 28 September 2016.

One of the contributors to the SHARE Programme, Senior Engineer (Systems Management) Anthony Seah said: “I joined the programme to help the needy and give back to society. I believe that being part of the programme helps fulfil our responsibility to the society, so let us all come together for the good cause.”

Similar sentiments drove Senior Engineer (C4I Development) Kelvin Wong, who wanted to assist the less fortunate. “A small contribution means a lot to every beneficiary,” he added.

Deputy Director (Building and Infrastructure) Leonard Heng was introduced to the programme by Deputy Director (Corporate Service) Lek Jiunn Feng. He said: “He told me about the SHARE Programme, and I felt that it is a great way to give back to the society.”

Jiunn Feng added: “No donation is too small – it is the willingness and thoughts that counts. Together, everyone’s contributions will add up to become a chest of resources to strengthen the social support network for those in need.”
